American Custom Fabricators is a New Jersey-based aluminum and stainless steel railing contractor specializing in custom-built railing systems for residential and commercial applications. Bob Schinder Jr. founded American Computer Floors, Inc. in 1983 as a full service raised access computer flooring company. At that time, quite a few jobs required hand railing systems and Bob became so dissatisfied with the quality of hand railing systems ACF was purchasing and with the delivery delays, that he started fabricating his own railings. For someone who started out as a union ironworker and had a background in metal work and welding, this was a natural transition.

Unlike pre-built or off-the-shelf systems, our railings are custom designed for each project to ensure proper fit, structural integrity, and long-term performance. Our most popular railing systems are fabricated from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, including 316L and Duplex 2205, and are TIG welded to the highest industry standards. All welds are ground smooth and skillfully brushed to a satin finish, producing a clean, high-end appearance. These materials are ideal for coastal New Jersey applications, offering superior resistance to salt air, moisture, and extreme weather conditions while remaining strong, stable, and low maintenance.
